Illinois State (USA)- Wednesday, State Senator took action in allowing video machines in bars and truck stops.
This undertaking gathered quite a number of positive and negative reactions from people around the State.
For one, Sheriff Tom Dart of Cook County said that video game is an avenue of gambling. He recalled that his department vice’s unit look into businesses that tolerates gambling in their video machines.
On the other hand, Senate president also gained a number of supporters who believe that this video gaming would bring huge amount of income to the state amounting to nearly $400 million per year. The provision of the bill is to legalize and regulate these machines.
Senate president John Cullerton believed that this bill will create thousands of jobs in the State of Illinois.
Those who are in the gambling opposition said that most money would definitely come from the people in the state who can afford it. The revenue may probably come but at the expense of those struggling citizens.
Tom Grey, from Stop Predatory Gambling foundation said that this will predictably end up like Iowa where legislature get rid of the video machines and other forms of gambling stuff because of the harm that it did to the residents.
